All these deaths are tragic, but especially sobering when supported by the state. I hope that is not the case in Carolina del norte.

International PEN canceled its backing for holding the Hay International Literary Festival in Xalapa, mainly because of the objections of the three Mexican PEN centres. The result: the Festival was canceled.

Here's a paraphrase of the Veracruz governor's comment: I'll find another festival to replace it. . . but he can't replace those fifteen lives.

The reports on the killing of the three Muslim students are still very early. At this point it's absurd to make even the slightest suggestion of "support by the state."

I just saw in a local paper here in GTO last week or so, a photo of a women who had all her limbs hacked off and NO HEAD, ( the paper said they couldn't find her head anywere) with the caption saying: "Accident or execution?" duhhhhh, say what??????

This has occurred right here in GTO, our city of tranquility.
