RE: Weather website
For what it's worth, CFE provides a 3-day forecast for every major city in Mexico, on its web site:

RE: Weather website
It would appear that the WeatherUnderground Marfil station is not up and running at all times. This morning, Thursday, Sept 19th, at 7:30 AM, it was getting it's weather from "Del Bajio (MMLO)", which is the airport, rather than the local "Marfil" station.
As long as they are going to use the airport, I would much rather use WeatherBug, due to it's superior format, and default to Fahrenheit: Click Here >>> http://weather.weatherbug.com/Mexico/Gua...02&units=0 If WeatherBug ever shows "no results" or something similar, then hit your browser's Refresh Button, more than once if necessary. Note on Celsius/Fahrenheit: I would much rather use Fahrenheit, not only because I grew up with it and I am used to it, but because I consider it to be superior to Celsius for measuring weather temperatures in the range of what is found on Earth. Celsius degrees are too large. Each Celsius degree is about 1.75 Fahrenheit degrees, forcing the use of decimal points in Celsius system. Fahrenheit degrees are smaller and no decimal points are really necessary. |

RE: Weather website
J - interesting point re F vs C degrees.
Weatherbug - to find Mexico one needs to look not to North America but to Central America and the Carribean. When I got to the GTO page it says the reporting weather station was QRO which is a bit far away. When I clicked Change Weather Station the site wanted me to download Microsoft Silverlight which I'd prefer not to do. |

RE: Weather website
I just checked Weatherbug Guanajuato and it was listing the airport "Del Bajio Leon" as the weather station. I also went back and double checked it.
One of the first things I do when I get a new computer is to download Silverlight. |

RE: Weather website
TajoDanny,
Can't you or the university put that weather station online. I researched home weather stations after my last post above, in particular Weatherbug Home Weather Stations. There are all kinds of apparatus available, including a device for US$159 that hooks to the weather station then transmits the data to your router and from there to where you want it posted on the internet, such as Weatherbug or Weather Underground, or something like that. I also looked into what it would cost for a half way decent Weathebug Home Weather Station and it was like US$350+ for the station, and as mentioned, US$159+ for the Wifi Device mentioned above. The Weatherbug Organization expects individuals to foot the cost 100% as far as I could tell. |
